I loved this movie and I'm a grandpa so yeah...I had to wipe the snot from my nose and tears off my chin on this one.
It seems almost every movie I've seen lately has some ultra bitch in it too..Some things never change.. There are still women out there who think they crap out roses.
Well enjoy this one.. great movie!

Another hankie weepie from Invincible Studios, which seemed obsessed with this kind of stuff. Anyways, here we have a senior violinist, who has serious problems with his kid. His son stays around all day listening to his be-bop music (Dad complains that this type of music is garbage), meanwhile Daughter goes out in all hours of the night. Shortly after the violinist gets his hand smashed in an accident, his two kids desert him (Daughter goes off to be married, Son runs off heaven knows where). Soon, hes out of a job (because of his bum hand), gets kicked out of his plum apartment, and has to perform on the street for money. The conductor of his former orchestra rescues him though, and soon the violinist is soon teaching! Then, about 8 years later, a student comes by, and guess what! It's his grandson! But he doesnt know that, and daughter is still somewhat annoyed at Dad.. So what will become of this family tragedy?
Somewhat ridiculous and treacley, Shean is alright in this, but the over-melodramtics of this script is somewhat tiring.

SYMPHONY OF LIVING still maintains a charm and is very entertaining. Al Shean is excellent, as is the supporting cast.

Subject: Lovely Musical Gem from the Past
Subject: Lovely Musical Gem from the Past
I was delighted to find this lovely musical gem from the past. If you are a musician and especially if you are a music teacher, you will really enjoy this old film about an orchestra's concermaster (violin) who damages his hand and is forced to make his living teaching violin rather than playing. His ungrateful and shiftless adult children abandon him in his time of need. He survives through the grace of kind new friends only to become the teacher of his greatest pupil, a child prodigy, who turns out to be his own grandson! The film was much better than I ever expected!
